New Park

Cornell Creek Park RenderingConstruction of a new 4 acre neighborhood park started in August 2014. The park is located on the southwest corner of Cornell and NW 231st, across from Sonrise Church. The parcel was acquired in August 2013.

The adopted master plan incorporates significant public input from three open houses and provides amenities for a variety of park users, from tots to seniors.  Key features include looped walking trails, a ½ acre fenced off-leash dog area, a small nature play area, a bocce ball court, and an outdoor ping-pong table.   These active areas are balanced by an open lawn, ornamental and native plantings, a riparian zone, and planted buffering from the adjacent streets and neighbors.  The park is intended to primarily serve nearby residents and will provide some green space for those living in the high rise apartments and other high density developments in the immediate neighborhood.

Anticipated construction completion is early spring 2016.
