Welcome to the Hillsboro Public Library
The Hillsboro Public Library is a department of the City of Hillsboro, as well as one of 14 Washington County Cooperative Services member libraries that share a countywide collection of almost 2,000,000 items, as well as maintaining the internet infrastructure, the website, the catalog, couriers who transport interlibrary loans and funding.

- The mission of the Hillsboro Public Library is to provide materials and services to help community residents of all ages and cultural backgrounds meet their informational, educational, professional, and recreational needs. Materials are collected, organized, and made conveniently accessible in various formats and for different ability levels. Services are provided in a friendly and timely manner.
- Special emphasis is placed on obtaining current, popular materials in a wide variety of formats, providing information in a cost-efficient manner, stimulating children’s interest in and appreciation for reading and learning, and supporting students.
- Because a democracy is maintained by an informed citizenry, the City of Hillsboro promotes lifelong use of its Library as a resource for daily living and decision-making.
The Hillsboro Public Library provides free library cards, programs and services to all residents living in Washington County. Services are also available to residents of Clackamas, Clark, Hood River, Klickitat, Multnomah, and Skamania counties through a reciprocal borrowing agreement between Washington County libraries and these counties.
The Library offers a full calendar of free programs, classes, cultural events, and access to Internet-connected computers and WiFi. Online, cardholders have 24/7 access to the catalog

Online reference assistance is available via email and Answerland, Oregon's statewide chat, text, and email reference service.
Librarians provide early literacy activities to infants and children, and workshops, information and support to their caregivers. Multiple drop-in storytimes for prereaders are scheduled throughout the week.
Cardholders can reserve study and conference rooms, as well as rent space for a larger event.
