To slow the spread of coronavirus and protect our community members’ health, all City of Hillsboro facilities are closed effective March 18, 2020.

Playgrounds, Sports Courts, and Public Recreation Equipment Closed

The City of Hillsboro has closed all playgrounds, sports courts, and public recreation equipment effective March 23 at noon.

Parks and Trails Open

All Hillsboro parks and trails will remain open for exercise and walking, but community members should take the need for social distancing seriously and maintain at least six feet separation from others.

Lunch with the Birds

Bird on snowy bird feeder.Join Jackson Bottom Staff and Volunteers for Lunch with the Birds! Wednesdays, September through December, 12 — 1 pm. Location is a different City of Hillsboro Park or natural area each month. For bird watchers of all levels and ages.

Learn identification tips and natural history facts about our local wildlife. Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them, we have them if you don’t! We meet rain or shine! Some parks have shelter but be prepared for the weather. Free. No pre-registration required.

Location: Rood Bridge Park, 4000 SE Rood Bridge Road
Description: Forest and wetland birds.

Location: Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve, North Viewing Station, SW Wood Street/219
Description: Winter waterfowl and raptors.
