To slow the spread of coronavirus and protect our community members’ health, all City of Hillsboro facilities are closed effective March 18, 2020.

Playgrounds, Sports Courts, and Public Recreation Equipment Closed

The City of Hillsboro has closed all playgrounds, sports courts, and public recreation equipment effective March 23 at noon.

Parks and Trails Open

All Hillsboro parks and trails will remain open for exercise and walking, but community members should take the need for social distancing seriously and maintain at least six feet separation from others.

Wetlands Exploration Days


Great Horned Owl.Experience family-friendly activities Sundays at Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve this fall. Wetlands Exploration Days are your chance to dive deeper into the wildlife and habitats of the Wetlands. Fun activities sure to be a hit with the whole family are led by Preserve naturalists. A different theme is offered each week so you can come back again and again to learn something new. Activities are geared for elementary-aged children and younger, but anyone is welcome to attend. No pre-registration required.
