Our Parks

Playgrounds, Sports Courts, and Public Recreation Equipment Closed

The City of Hillsboro has closed all playgrounds, sports courts, and public recreation equipment effective March 23 at noon.

Parks and Trails Open

All Hillsboro parks and trails will remain open for exercise and walking, but community members should take the need for social distancing seriously and maintain at least six feet separation from others.


Sites with reservable shelters are indicated below. Shelters may be reserved over the phone with a VISA, MasterCard, or Discover.

Note: Picnic shelter reservations are taken starting in January for the same year. 2019 reservation dates are April 13 - October 13.

Park Description

This 4-acre neighborhood park originally opened during the nation's bicentennial year, 1976, with the assistance of the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission. The park provides a picnic shelter, a multi-featured playground and lots of lawn space for active play. Benches are provided throughout the park along the paved path. The park can be accessed from the east and west sides off of NE 24th Avenue and NE 25th Avenue. Accessible restrooms and a drinking fountain are available.

Parking: On-street parking is provided along NE 25th Avenue.

 Image Accessible Paved Paths Paths: Most paths are paved. A four-foot wide paved path loops around the park and connects to the west and east sides of the park. A short gravel path connects the main area to benches under trees.
 Accessible Bench image Benches: Several benches are provided throughout the park and around the playground.
 Accessible Picnic Table Image  Picnic Tables: There are two separate groups of picnic tables. There is a group of accessible tables under the shelter and another group of tables under the trees in the center of the park.
 Image Accessible Picnic Shelter  Picnic Shelter: The surface of the picnic shelter is paved.
 Accessible Play image  Playground: The playground has an accessible play structure with lots of fun features, several swing sets, a climbing dino and a bobbing bee. The surface of the playground has wood chips and can be accessed from the path by a ramp.
 Accessible Restroom image  Restrooms: Accessible restroom facilities are available next to the playground. A drinking fountain is available near the picnic shelter.
 Image Accessible Play Area   Lawn/Play area: A large lawn area on the north side of the park provides space for soccer and other active sports.
