Plan Your Visit
This 6.7-acre community park provides a range of recreation opportunities for Hillsboro residents. A paved path in the developed portion of the park connects to soft-surface paths leading through a small natural area. Benches and tables can be found throughout the park. The playground, basketball court and large lawn provide a range of options for active play. The park can be accessed on the east side for parking, as well as by several neighborhood connections on the west side. A restroom is available near the parking lot and a drinking fountain is available near the playground.
Parking: Off-street, accessible parking is provided on the southeast corner of the park, off of NE Jackson School Road.
Paths: There are paved and unpaved paths. A four-foot wide paved path connects the parking lot, picnic area and playground to a large lawn and a natural area. Soft-surface paths at the west side of the park lead briefly through a wooded natural area and connect to more extensive trails and wetlands.
Benches: There are many benches throughout the park along the path, and at the major facilities.
Picnic Tables: There are several picnic tables placed in the lawn a short distance from the path on the west side of the park, and there are several accessible tables at the picnic shelter.
Picnic Shelter: The picnic shelter is next to the playground in the center of the park, and has a paved surface. The picnic shelter is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Playground: The playground has two accessible play structures and a swing set. The surface of the playground has wood chips and can be accessed from the path by a ramp.
Natural Area: The wooded natural area offers a peaceful escape. The path varies from mulch to muddy, and there are roots obstructing some areas. The wetland portion is beautiful.
Restrooms: A temporary restroom facility is available in the parking lot. A drinking fountain is available near the playground.
Basketball Court: A full basketball court can be accessed down a short grassy slope from the main path in the center of the park.
Lawn/Open Field: The open lawn provides a very long space for activities and sports.
