Playgrounds, Sports Courts, and Public Recreation Equipment Closed
The City of Hillsboro has closed all playgrounds, sports courts, and public recreation equipment effective March 23 at noon.
Parks and Trails Open
All Hillsboro parks and trails will remain open for exercise and walking, but community members should take the need for social distancing seriously and maintain at least six feet separation from others.
Sites with reservable shelters are indicated below. Shelters may be reserved over the phone with a VISA, MasterCard, or Discover.
Note: Picnic shelter reservations are taken starting in January for the same year. 2019 reservation dates are April 13 - October 13.
Any individual or organization offering a registration or fee based activity or program must have department approval prior to using City of Hillsboro parks or facilities.

Paula Jean Powerline Park, a power line corridor, offers ample space for active play. The park encompasses Paula Jean Playground at the north end and Traschsel Meadows at the south end. A narrow paved path connects the main portions of the park to the surrounding neighborhood, and several unpaved paths continue on through the meadow. Paula Jean playground offers a set of classic play structures with an adjacent shaded bench. There is a small basketball court in the southern portion of the park, off SW Augusta Street. The park can be accessed in many places from the neighborhood both on both sides, as well as from SW Jay Street, SW Augusta Street and SW Johnson Street. Restrooms and drinking water are not available.
A half court can be accessed off of SW Augusta Street.
There is a bench provided at the playground.
The meadow offers lots of space for active play.
On-street parking is provided on SW Jay Street, SW Augusta Street and on SW Johnson Street, as well as within the adjacent neighborhood.
There are paved and unpaved paths. A four-foot wide paved path runs through the north portion of the park, from SW Jay Street to Paula Jean Playground and beyond. A four-foot wide paved path runs through the south portion of the park connecting SW Augusta Street to SW Johnson Street. Several narrow unpaved paths run through other portions of the powerline corridor.
The playground has swings, a slide and a simple climbing structure. The wood chip play area is surrounded by grass a short distance from the paved path.
