Meet the First Family in Hillsboro to Enjoy Free Supervised Play
Megan Nace wants to be engaged in community affairs in Hillsboro.
Now that the City of Hillsboro provides free supervised play during City Council meetings, she can be there without finding a sitter for her children — or worrying about them getting restless at the meeting.
“As a working mother, opportunities to engage in community work are rare,” Megan said. “I'm always on the hunt for volunteer experiences that welcome and support small children or meaningful activities that happen outside the workday.”
The City of Hillsboro’s free supervised play program helps parents and guardians attend City Council meetings and work sessions on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The program provides up to two hours of free supervision for children ages 3 to 11 at Outdoors In.
“Outdoors In is a great, safe place for my children to play,” Megan said. “They have so much fun playing on the indoor play structure, using the other provided toys, and engaging in dramatic play. Walking back to the car, they were already asking when I was going to need to go to another meeting.”
