The City of Hillsboro Announces its First Employee Art Show

Relax by Danielle CornerThe City of Hillsboro Cultural Arts Division is pleased to announce the first City of Hillsboro Employee Art Show. Featuring a collection of work by 17 City staff, the show will be on display through the months of November and December in the Hillsboro Civic Center’s Shirley Huffman Auditorium and on the adjacent gallery wall. The Civic Center is located at 150 E. Main St. in Hillsboro, and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

“The exhibit is one way to catch a glimpse into the lives of our fellow co-workers and to learn a bit more about who they are and their interests outside of work,” says Michele McCall-Wallace, Cultural Arts Program Manager. Valerie Otani, Public Art Program Supervisor adds, “We wanted to shine a light on the artists in our midst and recognize the creativity that makes Hillsboro great.” The show will represent multiple departments from Public Works to Parks & Recreation. It will also display multiple mediums, including 3-dimensional work, painting, and photography.

The following employees will have work on display: Alex Zabarenko, Alice Marie Hill, Chandra Hingston, Danielle Comer, David McMurtrey, Dorian Russell, Haley Romero, Kim Rojas, Kurt Lara, LeAnn Alsop, Leslie Hamilton, Lindsey Holcomb, Maria Gonzalez, Melinda Gross, Michele McCall-Wallace, Randy Marsh, and Victoria Rielly.
