New Electric Vehicle Charging Station in Downtown Hillsboro

A new, fast electric vehicle charging station is now available in Downtown Hillsboro to help keep local electric vehicle (EV) drivers on the go — and to promote sustainable transportation.

The City of Hillsboro recently installed the Level 3 fast charging station, the only of its kind currently available to the community in Hillsboro.

“The City is excited to provide more EV charging options in Hillsboro to reduce barriers for electric vehicle owners," said Sustainability & Resiliency Manager Robin Straughan. “A fast charging station right off Main Street will encourage visitors to choose electric when heading Downtown.”

Charging Station Location & Details
  • Location: the Hillsboro Civic Center parking lot (150 East Main Street) on the corner of First Avenue & SE Washington Street.
  • Cost: $0.25/kWh
  • Supports: CCS1, CCS2, and CHAdeMO connectors
  • Maximum output: 62.5 kW
  • Charging capability: povides approximately 187.5 miles of range per hour.

Drivers can check the availability of the station through ChargePoint and visit the City's sustainability webpage for more information on EV charging and other sustainability initiatives.
