Free e-bike, Bike Gear Available to 25 Hillsboro Residents
Up to 25 Hillsboro residents who meet eligibility requirements will receive a free e-bike, bike gear, bike tune ups, repairs, trainings, and more.
The Ride2Own e-bike program organized by The Street Trust supports e-bike ownership for people who don’t already have easy access or comfortability with e-biking. The program aligns with the City of Hillsboro’s prioritization of Environmental Sustainability to enhance alternative transportation, improve air quality, and reduce carbon emissions.
Selected participants will receive:
- A free e-bike
- Free bike gear essentials
- Free bike tune ups, repair, and part replacement
- Free bike trainings and support services
- Opportunities to attend free community biking events
- Free membership to The Street Trust
Program Eligibility
People of color, women, and those who meet income qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.
To be eligible, participants must:
- be at least 18 years old
- live in Hillsboro or other designated communities
- commit to participate in the program and ride their bike regularly for one year
- meet income qualifications of 100% or less of Oregon’s State Median Income

Active Transportation Challenge
Cyclists can also participate in the upcoming Active Transportation Challenge in May — and win prizes.
Hosted by Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan partner Westside Transportation Alliance, in conjunction with Get There Oregon, the month-long contest is open to all residents of Washington County who bike, walk, scooter, or roll.
- Log your trips on the Get There Oregon website during the month of May and you will automatically be entered.
- Raffle prizes will be drawn throughout the month.
- Individual and team prizes will be awarded at the end of the challenge.
