A truck struck Shute Park Library during a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning.

Update: Shute Park Library is open for regular business hours after closing on Friday due to a car crash into the building.

Hillsboro Fire & Rescue and Hillsboro Police responded late Friday morning to a multi-vehicle crash on SE 10^th Avenue near SE Maple Street, and near Shute Park Library.

A truck involved in the crash struck Shute Park Library's north side and shattered two glass windows. A total of five people were injured in the crash (three people who were involved in the crash, two library patrons who were inside the building at the time). Injuries were non-life-threatening, and three people were transported to local hospitals for further care.

Hillsboro Fire & Rescue assessed the building and found the structure was not compromised by the damage.

Brookwood Library remained open for regular business hours on Friday.
