Local Companies Donate Time & Equipment to Install Hillsboro’s Holiday Tree
Three local companies donated their time and expertise to install Downtown Hillsboro’s holiday tree on the Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza ahead of the annual Holly Days & Tree Lighting event on November 22.
City Wide Tree Service donated its staff time and expertise to ensure the holiday tree was loaded and delivered without damaging the branches. Highway Heavy Hauling transported the 40-foot-tall tree free of cost, while NessCampbell donated its crane and resources to lift and lower the tree into place.
“The tree looks like it grew right out of the Civic Center Plaza — it arrived without a single broken branch. That’s a testament to the skill and dedication of City Wide Tree Service, Highway Heavy Hauling, and NessCampbell, and we’re deeply thankful for their partnership in lighting up Downtown Hillsboro,” said Harrison Butler, Executive Director of Hillsboro Downtown Partnership.
“NessCampbell lowered the tree gently onto the bed for transport. If a crane was not used, many branches would have broke” explained Karla Antonini, City of Hillsboro Economic & Community Development Project Manager.
“The entire process proceeded exceptionally well. It was a privilege to observe such professionalism and efficiency during a time-sensitive operation,” said Darrell Cecil, City of Hillsboro Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
