Hillsboro Hops, Tuesday Night Market Among Winners of the 2017 Best of Hillsboro Awards
The Hillsboro Hops at Ron Tonkin Field earned the title of Hillsboro’s Best Tourist Attraction in the 2017 Best of Hillsboro Awards, beating out other notable attractions such as the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals, Downtown Hillsboro restaurants, TopGolf, and Bag&Baggage productions.
More than 530 people cast votes online and in person at Celebrate Hillsboro, naming Rood Bridge Park as the Best Picnic Spot over Shute Park and the Dawson Creek area by the Brookwood LIbrary. Winners in six categories were formally announced at the Hillsboro City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 18.
More than two out of every three voters selected the Hillsboro Farmers’ Market and Tuesday Night Market as the Best Place to People Watch. Tuesday Night Market also earned the title of Best Place for Teens to Gather, beating Insomnia Coffee Company and Reedville Creek Skate Park. In the category of Best Local Fresh Produce or Crop, Hood strawberries took top honors over blueberries and raspberries.
Celebrate Hillsboro was named Best Community Event, beating out the Washington County Fair, the Oregon International Air Show, Downtown Hillsboro parades, the Latino Cultural Festival, and the Farm-to-Table Dinner in Downtown Hillsboro.See a complete list of winners from previous years.
