Fall Leaf Collection Program Now Underway

The City of Hillsboro Public Works Department offers two free collection programs to help residents manage their leaves during the fall season. These longstanding programs assist in keeping our 230 miles of City of Hillsboro streets clean and reliable and reduces flooding caused by leaves clogging storm drains.

Leaf Collection #1Curbside Leaf Pick-Up

The Curbside Leaf Pick-up season runs October 30, 2017 through January 2018. City of Hillsboro residents can determine when city leaf crews will be in their neighborhood by: 

For tips on how to prepare leaves for curbside collection, visit If residents miss the leaf collection period for their neighborhood, they will need to dispose of their leaves in another manner, such as in their yard debris disposal bin or at the City’s Leaf Disposal Drop-off site.

Leaf Disposal Drop-off & Food Drive

The Public Works Department is offering three dates for City of Hillsboro residents to drop-off leaves. Loose leaves are preferred. If bagged, use biodegradable paper bags. Plastic bags will not be accepted nor will landscape debris from commercial enterprises.

During these drop-off opportunities, the City of Hillsboro will also be collecting canned food donations for local families in need.
