Hillsboro Selects Block 67 Development Partner
Block 67 has a new development partner to lead the planning and design for a catalytic mixed-use project in Downtown Hillsboro. The City of Hillsboro has selected the team at Project ^ (pronounced “Project”) to oversee the site’s future activity. Employees at Project ^ have experience constructing mixed-use projects along the West Coast, and helped to develop Pacific University’s campus in Downtown Hillsboro.
Project ^ submitted a concept entitled “Permaculture” that envisioned a combination of market-rate housing, office space, a market, and structured parking at the former Hank’s Thriftway site. The City will now negotiate with Project ^ on a development program for the site while conducting public outreach and refining a project plan that includes public financing. Block 67 sits between 6th and 7th avenues next to the MAX line and the Health and Education District.
