Public Works Crews Working 24/7 to Keep Roadways Clear, Safe & Passable
During this current winter weather event, City of Hillsboro Public Works Department crews are working 24/7 to keep Hillsboro’s roadways clear, safe, and passable. This evening, in preparation of predicted snowfall, crews will again be applying anti-icing solution, sanding, and snow plowing as needed to stay ahead of this winter storm.
Crews will concentrate efforts on highly traveled roadways providing access to critical facilities, emergency services, and major highways. This includes Main Street (from SW Baseline to Brookwood Parkway), Jackson School Road, Minter Bridge Road, 206th Avenue, Century Boulevard, 25th Avenue, and other priority thoroughfares in the city. Crews will also focus on hills, dips, curves, and bridges more heavily impacted by snow and ice conditions.
While Public Works Department crews are pro-actively preparing for the next round of potential snow and ice, travelers are encouraged to maintain their safety on Hillsboro roadways by slowing down, increasing following and stopping distance, and signaling early and braking gently. To protect travelers as well as our crews, please give the city’s anti-icing trucks, snow plows, sanding trucks, and other emergency vehicles plenty of extra room (at least three car lengths) to operate safely.
