Post Date:07/06/2018 12:00 pm

Making worry dolls at Celebrate HillsboroWhen the leaden skies of late winter and spring finally clear to reveal a sky so blue a new crayon should be named in its honor, and the sun warms the air enough to coax neighbors into long evening conversations, it’s time to get out and explore summer community events. Hillsboro offers a wide range of outdoor concerts, festivals, plays, and films, as well as great classes to learn a new skill. Make a date for your family or friends to meet at one of the following events!

Bag&Baggage’s "As You Like It, or Love In A Forest"
Adventure. Mistaken identity. Romance. Rivalry. Comedy. Love. Shakespeare’s classic comedy, As You Like It, receives the full Bag&Baggage treatment in a world premiere adaptation by Associate Artistic Director Cassie Greer and presented in a new summer location (outdoors in The Vault Courtyard and inside The Vault Theater). B&B is breaking barriers and digging deep into the literary history of the Bard’s brilliant romantic comedy by combining it with the almost completely unknown Restoration-era play Love In A Forest by Charles Johnson. Shakespeare’s play has been “tidied up” and romantic entanglements made more entangled, resulting in a thrilling new take on the Forest of Arden.
