World-Renowned Musicians Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas Return to the Walters
The Walters Cultural Arts Center (527 E. Main St., Hillsboro) is pleased to announce a performance by renowned duo Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas on November 9 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 day of show.
Fraser and Haas’ richly expressive performances transport listeners through a broad musical spectrum including haunting Gaelic airs, rambunctious dance tunes, and improvisations based on traditional themes. Over the last 18 years, Fraser—named “the Michael Jordan of Scottish Fiddling” by the San Francisco Examiner—and American cellist Haas have created a buzz at festivals and concert halls across the globe. Together, they have set the standard for fiddle and cello in traditional music. Fraser has been recognized as “one of Scotland’s most valued tradition-bearers,” by BBC Radio Scotland, and is widely regarded as a master performer. Haas is considered one of the most sought-after cellists in Celtic music today.
A favorite at the Walters, previous performances by Fraser and Haas have sold out. Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets as early as possible to guarantee a seat.
