Community Services Grants Awarded to 31 Local Nonprofits

Represenatives from 31 local nonprofits at the Civic CenterWith grant checks in hand, representatives from 31 Hillsboro-area nonprofit organizations wrapped around the front of the Civic Center Auditorium during the December 3 City Council meeting. The 31 organizations received varying grant awards from the City of Hillsboro’s Community Services Grant Program for the 2019-20 Fiscal Year.

Hillsboro City Councilors presented a total of $200,000 in grant awards to 31 organizations that provide impactful services in Hillsboro, including housing assistance, domestic violence resources, veterans assistance, meal delivery, and more.

The number of recipients and the grant award values have increased substantially since Hillsboro’s Community Services Grant Program began during the 1992-93 Fiscal Year. Back then, the program awarded a total of $15,000.
