Prioritizing Entrepreneurial Support

The Hillsboro Civic Leadership Academy’s Class of 2017 reinvigorated efforts for entrepreneurial support in Hillsboro by researching and suggesting solutions to help entrepreneurs and creative-minded youth to develop their ideas into job-creating companies. In 2018, the Hillsboro City Council made support for entrepreneurs a City priority.

HillHub is, in large part, the result of the Hillsboro Economic Development Partnership: a collaboration between the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hillsboro. Together, the Chamber and the City contributed funding to advance business education and training to include space for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and startup businesses.

In addition, the City of Hillsboro partnered with the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network to hire Venture Catalyst Laura Kubisiak to support and encourage local entrepreneurs.
