2019 Best of Hillsboro Award Winners Announced

Celebrate Hillsboro 2017 Downtown Hillsboro and the Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets are among the big winners of the 2019 Best of Hillsboro Awards.

Nearly 400 people voted during the month of July and at the 15th annual Celebrate Hillsboro event on Saturday, July 20.

Half of all voters named Downtown Hillsboro as the Best Hillsboro Neighborhood to Visit, while Main Street in Downtown Hillsboro was named Best Place that Represents What Hillsboro Is All About with 34 percent of the votes.

The Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets were named Best Place to People Watch, and the Saturday Farmers’ Market was named Best Place to Meet Up with Neighbors. Other winners are Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve as the Best Place to Watch a Sunset, and Cornelius Pass Roadhouse as the Best Place to Have a Party (for grown-ups).

The Best of Hillsboro Awards began in 2015 and have continued as a part of the annual Celebrate Hillsboro festival. The complete results for 2019 are listed below, and the list of previous years’ winners are on the Best of Hillsboro webpage.

Downtown Hillsboro 50%

Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets 43%

(Other finalists: Tuesday Night Market 30%, Main Street in Downtown 13%, Brookwood Library 9%, Hillsboro Hops game 5%)

Best Place that Represents What Hillsboro Is All About
Main Street in Downtown Hillsboro 34%

(Other finalists: Tuesday Night Market 25%, Shute Park/SHARC/Community Senior Center 18%, Brookwood Library 16%, Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza 6%)


Best Place to Meet Up with Neighbors
Saturday Farmers’ Market 34%

Best Place to Watch a Sunset
