The City of Hillsboro is seeking submissions of two-dimensional works of art to become part of Hillsboro’s Public Art Collection. Limited edition archival reproductions of the original will then be presented as gifts to dignitaries visiting Hillsboro and during the official City trips throughout the world. Designating artwork as an official gift emphasizes Hillsboro’s pride in its creative community.Selection Criteria
Existing two-dimensional artwork is eligible for submission. The artwork should represent the characteristic landscape, city views, people and/or places of Hillsboro.
The purchase price cannot exceed $750.
Finalists will be selected for an exhibition in the City of Hillsboro Civic Center auditorium where the City Council meets. The work for purchase will be selected from the finalists on view. The finalists’ work is for sale, and can be purchased by City departments or the public. (Note: If the work is selected as a finalist, it must be delivered by January 10, 2019, to the Walters Cultural Arts Center ready to hang. The purchase price does not have to include the frame.)Selection Process
