Linda Haworth is a professional artist living in Hillsboro, Oregon. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Northern Arizona University and spent 15 years winning public art commissions, mainly with transportation demonstration projects. After she was selected in a national competition to design the Washington/SE 12th Avenue light rail station in Hillsboro, Oregon, she fell in love with the community and moved to Hillsboro. She established her studio and founded a gallery on Main Street where the Civic Center now stands. There, she developed a process for creating custom mosaic from handmade sheets of colored glass, offering more variety than commercial glass tile. She became active in local arts associations and was on the founding steering committee of Tuesday Marketplace. “Working simultaneous contracts in different states, I always felt like I was coming home when seeing the rolling hills of Washington County.”
