Dimensions: 13 sq ft
Location: 620 NE Jackson School Rd
Hillsboro, OR 97124
Commissioned by the Hillsboro Parks and Recreation Department and Sandy Zajdel in memory of Stan Zajdel. Stan was an avid gardener and supporter of the Eastman Rose Garden. Sandy worked with the Tualatin Valley Rose Society, a local organization that volunteers time to maintain the roses, to find a fitting memorial to Stan. His passion was red hybrid tea roses, so the artist designed the mosaic with a red rose in full bloom, with two buds alongside. The background was inspired by the trellis and bench designs found in the garden.
