Planning Department applications are reviewed to ensure that the proposed project is meeting the applicable approval criteria and standards set forth in the Community Development Code, or other applicable code regulations that apply.
Electronic plan review is conducted, and comments or recommended conditions may be identified as changemarks or checklist items on plans. These items are attached to the Notice of Decision as informational comments or conditions of approval. Conditions of approval must be resolved in subsequent permit submittals.
Once your electronic submission has gone through prescreen and is deemed complete by the Case File Planner, the review process begins, generally with a 14-day review period. During this time, you can view your files in the “Drawings” and/or “Documents” folders.
You may view the progress of your application review during this period, however, we caution that comments can change during the review period. If significant revisions are requested, you will receive an email from ProjectDox requesting that you resubmit corrected application materials. See Change Notification and Plan Resubmit for details on reviewing comments or checklist items, and for resubmitting corrected plans. Unlike with many other Building or Engineering permits, typically Planning applications do not go through multiple cycles of review. Typically with Planning applications, the comments and/or conditions of approval are provided with a staff report, and/or decision.
If you have questions about any comments provided during your application review, please contact your Case File Planner.
