Garbage and recycling services in the City of Hillsboro are provided by six private collection companies (or haulers). Hillsboro Municipal Code section 6.08 provides the franchise details. Each hauler provides services to a specific geographic area of the city, as defined in the franchise territory map.
The six franchised waste haulers are:
- Evergreen Disposal & Recycling: phone 503-357-3510 (formerly Cornelius Disposal)
- Garbarino Disposal and Recycling: phone 503-647-2335
- Hillsboro Garbage Disposal: phone 503-648-4219
- Pride Disposal: phone 503-625-6177
- Washington County Drop Box Service: phone 503-531-8843
- Waste Management: phone: 1-800-808-5901 (formerly Aloha Garbage)
The purpose of the franchise system is to ensure that all City residents and businesses are charged the same rates for services, regardless of where they live or work. Also, clear boundaries make services more efficient with fewer trucks on city streets. Read the Hauler Responsibilities and Standards .

Beginning in November each year, the City of Hillsboro starts it's annual curbside street tree leaf pick-up program. The City's leaf program helps keep our streets clean and reduces flooding caused by leaves clogging the storm drains.
The City also provides a free leaf disposal drop-off at the Hillsboro Fairground Sports Complex on 28th Avenue next to the tennis courts. Learn more about the City's Curbside Leaf Pick-Up & Drop-Off Program.
**Please note, the City leaf collection service is separate from yard debris collection service provided by the City's franchised waste haulers.
