Hillsboro Community

Energy is a critical component of our community and in the delivery of City services. It is essential for energy use to become more efficient and produced from renewable resources. Recognizing this, City of Hillsboro leaders have made a commitment to sustainability, including energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy.

The City of Hillsboro partnered with the Environmental Protection Agency to become a Green Power Community (GPC) and currently ranks number one in the nation for green power use.

Businesses

Businesses can participate by visiting the Green Power Partnership web page to learn more about the program and sign up to be a partner. 

Homeowners

Homeowners are also encouraged to participate by choosing green energy sources for electricity including clean wind, solar, geothermal, biogas, eligible biomass and low-impact small hydroelectric.
