We're Moving to Monthly Utility Bills!

Starting in October 2017, the City of Hillsboro Utility Billing began switching customers who have been traditionally billed on a bi-monthly basis to monthly billing. This process will be implemented over the course of approximately 18 months, with a goal of having all customers transitioned to monthly billing before 2020.

Monthly billing will allow customers the opportunity to improve budget planning, manage water consumption on a monthly rather than bi-monthly basis, and be alerted to possible leaks in a timely manner. Customers will receive a letter of notification prior to their transition to monthly billing.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) will automatically deduct funds from your checking or savings account on a regular basis and shall remain in effect until you cancel.

Use this form to start, cancel, or change EFT.

You can submit your request using the buttons above or fill out and deliver the printable Electronic Funds Transfer request form to us.

If you have any questions you can contact the utility billing office through this e-mail form or call at 503-681-6163.

You will continue to receive a utility bill in the same billing cycle as you currently do, allowing you time to review the charges and notify the Utility Department of any discrepancies.

After you sign up for EFT, continue to pay your utility bill as you normally have until you receive a utility bill that states,Electronic Funds Transfer – DO NOT PAY. There could be a delay of 1 billing periods before EFT is activated, as your bank account information you provide to us must be verified before we can initiate automatic deduction.

The payment will automatically be deducted from your bank account on the Friday of the due date shown on your utility bill.  For example, if your bill due date is on a Monday, it will not be deducted from your bank account until Friday of that same week.

If you wish to cancel or change EFT, notify the City of Hillsboro Utility Billing Department in writing at least one week before the due date of your utility bill.
