This 24-acre neighborhood park includes a developed portion and a large natural area. In 1988, the City received a donation of approximately 15 acres of floodplain property on Dairy Creek. Subsequently, through donation and purchase, additional parcels were added so the park now provides eighteen acres of natural area and six acres of park area. Construction of the park started in June 2003 and finished with a dedication celebration on May 11, 2005.
The developed portion of the park has paved walking paths, a basketball court, a playground, a softball field with soccer field overlay, artificial turf inserts on the soccer field goal areas, two parking areas, open lawn for play and picnicking, and extensive landscaping and lighting in the parking and main path areas.
The park has an open and inviting feel, with a variety of features set against the backdrop of woodland in the creek corridor. Paved paths provide easy access throughout the park and soft-surface pathways provide access to the natural area along the creek. The park can be accessed via two entrances located on along SW Walnut Avenue. An accessible restroom is available.
The full basketball court is surrounded by lawn and can be accessed from the nearby main path.
Several benches are provided throughout the park along the main path.
The wooded natural area along Dairy Creek, on the west edge of the park, provides a peaceful place to stroll and spot wildlife.
Off-street, accessible parking is provided off of SW Walnut Avenue.
There are paved and unpaved paths. A six-foot wide paved path loops around the developed portion of the park and connects to the natural area. Several meandering soft-surface paths on the west end of the park provide access to a wooded area leading to Dairy Creek.
The surface of the picnic shelter is fully paved and the shelter has accessible picnic tables.
There are two picnic areas at the park. Picnic areas are on a fully paved surface and there are several accessible picnic tables provided.
The playground has an accessible play structure and several swing sets. The surface of the playground has wood chips and can be accessed from the path by a ramp.
