A band is not complete until it has a solid bass player. For those eager to improve and make their band sound great, from beginner to advanced student, this class is for you.
- Concert Production
Become an expert at running things behind the scenes. As part of the team, you'll get a chance to design and build a stage, set up and run lights, and create graphics and videos for the bands. In short, we make the concert look awesome!
- Drum Set
If you're building a great rock band, the best place to start is with a great drummer. For those that love to use two sticks to play relentless grooves and thunderous fills, this class is for you! (Limited to 24 students.)
Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate student, this short-course will take your musical talent to the next level. By the time you're finished, you'll be on your way to becoming a skilled guitar player. You'll get to know all the parts of your guitar, from frets to strings, and learn how to tune your instrument. After that, you'll explore the fundamentals of music notation and find out how to produce clear, beautiful notes and chords. You'll also discover how to control your rhythm, tempo, and volume, and how to express yourself artistically.
Attention trumpet, trombone, and sax players: Camp Amp now welcomes you to the stage! In this major, you'll learn how to provide the unique sound of winds and brass instruments to pop, rock, blues and funk songs in live performance. Camp Amp Horns students form small groups that will play with multiple Camp Amp bands during rehearsals and for the final concert. Due to the high playing demands of this major, as well as specific instrumentation, Camp Amp Horns is open to high school students (entering Grades 9 - 12) performing on saxophone, trumpet or trombone only. This major is limited to 4 saxophones, 3 trumpets and 3 trombones.
Do you love to sing and want to experience the thrill of performing? There is nothing like singing with a live band! This class will give you the opportunity to learn how to work with a band as a lead vocalist, backup or group singer, as you work with other musicians to perfect a performance piece. Every vocalist will perform songs with a band for the end-of-camp final performance. You will learn proper vocal warm-ups, care and feeding of your vocal instrument, performance and microphone techniques. Please bring your own bottled water to this class.
