Hillsboro Parks & Recreation is moving to a new online registration system on November 26. If you need to register for a class or program before that date, please register by phone at the number below. Online registration will resume Tuesday, November 27.
- Register by phone at 503-681-5397
- Walk in to any of our locations (See list below under Walk-in Registration)
- Registration is open for Fall 2018 classes.
- Registration for Winter/Spring 2019 classes will begin Tuesday, November 27.
First Time Registration
If you have never registered for one of our programs, your account must be set up by our staff. You may contact us by phone at 503-681-5397 or come into any of our facilities during business hours to obtain your login information.
The website we use for processing online registrations will be changing for the Winter/Spring 2019 Activities Guide session, and there are a few things we’d like you to know regarding how to access your account prior to when registration begins on November 27th:
- Our previous online registration website, called RecXpress, has been replaced with a new site called Active Net.
- If you have previously used RecXpress to register for classes online, then your login and password information for Active Net should be the same as what RecXpress referred to as your “Barcode” and “PIN”. If that is unsuccessful, then please try using the email address we have on file for you as your login, and then your PIN as your password.
- If you are unable to access your account with your login (Barcode or Email Address) and password (PIN) combination, please try the “Forgot your password” option in conjunction with the email address we would have on file for you and a temporary password will be automatically sent to your email.
- If none of these steps work for you, or if you don’t already have an account with us, please contact our Administration Office at 503-681-6120 for assistance during regular business hours.
If you would rather not wait until registration begins on November 27th to make sure that you can access your account online, please click the link below and you’ll be taken to our new Active Net website: https://apm.activecommunities.com/hillsborooregonparks
Thank you for your patience while we transition from RecXpress to Active Net, and we look forward to serving you!
You can register online by browsing the Activities Guides and clicking on the item of interest or by clicking on the Active Net registration link. Using our online registration program, you may view your account, browse our wide array of programs and classes, and register 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Payment method is by Visa, Mastercard or Discover.

Note policy change beginning November 28, 2017:
Registrants must withdraw by end of the business day at least four (4) days prior to the start of the program, unless otherwise specified to receive a credit, or refund minus a $5 processing fee. For example, if a camp/class starts on a Monday, the patron would need to call the prior Thursday to receive a full credit/refund for the class. Requests made within four days will be subject to standard processing fees and an administrative fee of 25 percent of the total program fee. No credits or refunds will be issued after the start of programs. Cost of admission tickets and pre-paid program materials cannot be refunded. Please allow approximately two weeks to receive a refund if it is processed by check.
Financial aid can be requested for recreation and aquatic center programs. (No team fees or rentals.) One request per season (three-month period) per person will be granted. The maximum amount of assistance is 75 percent of the cost of the activity. Please allow two weeks for processing. Persons requesting financial aid must complete the form below and return along with the registration form to the Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Department, 4400 NE Century Boulevard.
If your desired class is filled, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list. If openings become available, we will go to the waiting list to fill the class. To be properly waitlisted online, the user must complete the transaction by clicking "checkout", despite there being no charge to waitlist.
Call the Tyson Recreation Center at 503-615-6552, the Parks and Recreation office at 503-681-6120, or the Glenn and Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center at 503-615-3485 for program/activity cancellations due to weather.
