Receive Energy Efficiency Home Upgrades
Income-qualified homeowners and renters in Hillsboro may be eligible to receive energy efficiency home upgrades through the City's Energy Efficiency Assistance Program.
Space conditioning (heating and air conditioning) and water heating are typically the largest components of home energy bills. This program supports projects that lower energy use, improve home comfort, and reduce energy bills.
Projects may include installation, repair, or maintenance of appliances such as:
- Heat pump water heaters
- Ductless heat pumps
- Attic fans
- Smart thermostats
- Similar appliances that align with the City’s climate goals
- Electrical or plumbing upgrades required for energy efficiency improvement

Funding for this program is limited and will be utilized on a first-come, first-served basis until all available funds have been expended.
