Hillsboro Industrial District
The Hillsboro Industrial District is home to many of Oregon’s largest and most economically vital companies. With a concentration of advanced technology and manufacturing businesses, the District includes well-known names such as Intel, Qorvo, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Genentech, Oracle, Beaverton Foods, Reser’s Fine Foods, and more. Employment
Development of the District is a key component of Hillsboro’s long-term plan to fulfill regional and local goals for managed growth and economic development including creation and retention of well-paid jobs. Companies within the Hillsboro Industrial District employ more than 40,000 people in business parks and individual corporate campuses. Over half of Hillsboro's total employment is located in the District as well as 70% of the City's payroll. In addition, 24% of the Portland region's manufacturing employment is in Hillsboro.
Industrial Renewal
The North Hillsboro Industrial Renewal Area consists of approximately 1,100 acres on the western end of the Hillsboro Industrial District. The industrial renewal area designation allows the City to invest in public infrastructure - including streets, utilities, and services - to meet the needs of industrial, high tech and other employment uses. In addition, open space, trails and other improvements to support and enhance the natural environment will be created.
Hillsboro Technology Park
The Hillsboro Technology Park has emerged as one of the region's premier industrial locations, supporting the growth of high tech, advanced manufacturing, and information technology. With strong infrastructure, large lot availability, and proximity to major industry leaders, the park has seen significant development activity in recent years.
