Parking Ticket InformationThe city of Hillsboro Police Department enforces parking regulations. Parking regulations are listed in the Hillsboro Municipal Code on the city website. Parking tickets are issued by the City of Hillsboro Parking Enforcement Officers or City of Hillsboro Police Officers.
The following options are available to resolve a parking ticket:
Pay the fine:
- In person with cash, check, money order or credit card (Bring your ticket and ID with you)
- Mailing in your payment
- Pay online
- Pay by phone at 503-681-6157
Tickets not paid in full within 10 business days of issuance will double.
Some tickets are not available for payment online. Please contact the court at 503-681-6157 if you are unable to find your ticket or have any questions.
Appealing a citation
If you feel the ticket was issued in error, an appeal can be made within 30 days of the issue date by:
- Appearing in court and present your case to the judge in person. Court is held on Tuesdays at either 8:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. Please bring the ticket and your ID and check in with the clerk before entering the courtroom.
- By submitting a written explanation along with the fine amount. The amount of fine must be posted in the form of a check in full for the explanation to be considered. If the Judge dismisses your citation, the check will be mailed back to you without processing.
What to do if I do not own the car
If you received a letter regarding a vehicle which is no longer under your ownership, a copy of the bill of sale or the DMV records of transfer of ownership will need to be provided to the court as proof the vehicle was no longer owned at the time the ticket was issued.
