Liberty High School Fire Science Program

In 2017, Hillsboro Fire and Rescue partnered with Hillsboro School District and Northwest Regional Education Service District to host the Liberty High School Fire Science Program. This program allows high school students in Hillsboro to explore a potential career in fire and emergency medical services (EMS).

The Liberty High School Fire Science Program provides an in depth look at the three main areas of today’s fire service: structural firefighting, wildland firefighting and EMS. Students will learn by interactive lectures, group projects, facility tours, and state of the art equipment demonstrations taught by professional firefighters. Basic fire and EMS techniques will be presented along with real life demonstrations and ride-along experiences.

For more information about this program, or to enroll, visit the Hillsboro School District website.
