October is Hillsboro Arts Month! Celebrate by attending a performance, visiting a local art gallery, learning a creative skill in a workshop or class, taking a tour of Hillsboro’s public art, listening to musicians at a local restaurant, and so much more.

Arts Month is a time to explore creative pursuits with friends, family, or on your own. There are activities for all ages, interests, and abilities! Get to know the diverse arts community in Hillsboro as you celebrate the arts this October and all year round.

About Hillsboro Arts Month

Hillsboro is home to a large community of amazing artists, musicians, writers, actors, dancers, and other creatives, as well as dynamic arts and cultural groups and nonprofits.

Hillsboro Arts Month is an initiative of the Hillsboro Arts & Culture Council designed to highlight these individuals and groups, while also expressing the ways the arts make our lives and community richer.


Arts & Culture Endowment

Look Forward, Give Back to the Arts

The Hillsboro Arts & Culture Endowment is dedicated to creating a permanent funding source to support non-profit arts organizations and individual artists working in all genres of art in Hillsboro. Since 2015, the Endowment has provided funding for Hillsboro nonprofit arts and culture organizations, as well as for individual artists to encourage the creative expression of our diverse community.

The Hillsboro Arts & Culture Endowment is funded by the community, for the community. Your contribution ensures that ongoing financial support for the arts in Hillsboro will grow.

Our Creative Community

Get to know Hillsboro’s arts organizations

Bag&Baggage Productions is Hillsboro’s resident professional theater company. They crack open and explore the classics of world literature through innovative and provocative theater productions, while connecting these works to our diverse community and shared humanity.


Golden Road Arts provides arts education for children, parents, and teachers, offering high quality and free art lessons while nurturing a love of art.


HART Theatre offers quality community theater and entertainment to Hillsboro residents, while also providing educational opportunities and chances for community involvement through volunteer activity.


Hillsboro Historical Society focus is to share Hillsboro’s local history, whether it be through guided tours of historic Hillsboro, “Monumental Moments” events at the Pioneer Cemetery with costumed interpreters telling the stories of our dearly departed, signage revealing tales from downtown Hillsboro’s colorful past, and a variety of other exhibits, lectures, and events.


Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra provides a family-friendly musical experience for audiences through entertainment, education, and cultural opportunities, while providing orchestra members a positive creative outlet for their own personal growth.


The Immigrant Story documents and archives the voices and stories of immigrants in short, accessible visual and written formats. Their vision is to provide curated and relevant content to enhance empathy and create an inclusive community. Their goal is both to advance the national dialogue and to dispel myths about new Americans through strong, thoughtful narratives.


Oregon Chorale is an adult choir based in Hillsboro that promotes beautiful, provocative choral music at the highest level while keeping concerts affordable, accessible, and fun for its audiences. Founded in 1985, the chorale supports local youth through its Emerging Voices program, music scholarships, and collaboration with local youth choirs.


RASIKA is a Hillsboro-based cultural organization dedicated to presenting and promoting classical Indian dance, music, and culture through high quality concerts, lectures, demos, and classes.


STAGES Performing Arts Youth Academy offers innovative programs for youth where they may develop their own unique creative voice in a supportive environment. STAGES nurtures artistic, intellectual, and character development through an educational theatre arts program that develops confidence, respect, compassion, cooperation, creativity, and critical thinking.


The Young Artists’ Club connects staff and families at title one schools, helping them build mutually beneficial art programs that addresses art education at school and access to art materials at home.


Tualatin Valley Artists / Influence Music Hall is an organization of creative people dedicated to improving the community’s quality of life by enhancing its art and culture. With a strong focus on building and presenting a regional sense of art and culture, they provide education, quality gallery display, poetry, and musical performance—all in an atmosphere of encouragement and opportunity.


Westside Community & Youth Orchestra was originally named the Intel Orchestra, but over time expanded to include a mix of both adult and youth players taking on this new name. WCYO encourages leadership and mentoring for all its musicians, while also performing two free community performances in winter and spring, with a mix of classical and contemporary orchestral works.


Westside Quilters Guild welcomes quilters of all skill levels from beginner to professional, traditional and modern. With over 200 members, their activities include monthly meetings, charity quilting, workshops, retreats, weekend sew-ins, a quilt show held in odd numbered years, and more.
