Home MenuBridge Over Brookwood Project
Project Overview
The City of Hillsboro was awarded a $1 million grant from Metro Regional Government to complete preliminary designs on a pedestrian bridge over NE Brookwood Parkway.
The bridge would safely connect the newly constructed Crescent Park Greenway trail on the west side of NE Brookwood Parkway (south of U.S. Highway 26), to the future trail on the east side (near Top Golf), which will eventually connect to the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex. See a map of the location.
This project will define:
- what a crossing would look like
- where it could be placed
- how people will get up and over the bridge
There are three public open houses planned for this project with the first on October 15, 2025. As the project moves forward over the next year and a half, there will be more opportunities for the community to review options and weigh in.
Virtual Open House #2: Bridge Design
Share your feedback in a survey featuring:
- A conceptual project timeline that shows how the project could move from planning through construction.
- The selected bridge and trail alignment, known as the Locally Preferred Alignment (LPA), which was developed based on feedback from the first open house.
- Potential landscape elements for the future bridge, including options such as boardwalks, signage, and lighting.
- Six bridge concept types that were developed using input from the first open house.
