Winter Village @ Orenco Station: Thank you for attending!

The Winter Village Ice Rink is now closed.

It was another amazing season at the outdoor ice skating rink at Orenco Station. Thank you to everyone who came to skate, spectate, participate in special events, and celebrate the winter season with us. We hope to see you again in November 2026!

Find seasonal cheer at this outdoor ice-skating rink. Winter Village is a beloved Hillsboro event. Bring your friends and family to a skate session, take an ice skating lesson, or rent the rink for your private party. Don't miss exciting special events and skate days!

**Sunday, January 11: Last session begins at 5:30 pm. No 7 pm session.

Rules & Guidelines

Each session is 60 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before your desired skate time.
Skate sessions are first come, first served.
Each session can accommodate approximately 45 people.
Children 13 and under must be accompanied on the ice by a paying adult.
A parent or legal guardian must complete the participation waiver for each youth skater.
Save time and complete the waiver online.

Prices (includes skate rental)

$19 — General admission
$16 — 13 and under
Free — 3 and under
$5 — Bobby skate aid rental

Tickets may be purchased up to 15 minutes before each skate session.
No advanced ticket sales.

Payment Types

Credit, debit, and prepaid cards only. A reverse ATM will be available for people who have cash.

Private Group Rentals

Great for birthday parties, office celebrations, and social groups!

Approximately 30 skaters per private rental session.

Reservations for private rentals will open at 8 am on Tuesday, September 2

- An account with Hillsboro Parks & Recreation will be required to reserve a time.
- Use an existing login or call to create an account Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. 503-681-6120.

Parking, Accessibility & Safety

Orenco Station Know Before You Go

The event is located on the MAX blue & red line at the “Orenco Station” stop. Use of TriMet is encouraged.
Street parking is limited.
Parking is available at the Rowlock or Vector parking garages. The first 2 hours are free, but you must display a ticket in your car window.
The event plaza is accessible for mobility devices with level, paved surfaces and curb ramps along the sidewalk.
There are three accessible public restrooms available.

Ice Skating Know Before You Go:

The rink is located outdoors, but is fully covered.
Skate rentals are included in the cost of admission.
You are welcome to bring your own skates, but there is no discount on ticket price.
There are no advance tickets sales. All tickets must be purchased in person on the day of your skate session.
Tickets can be purchased up to 15 minutes before your skate session begins.
Helmets are not required but will be available at no charge. You are also welcome to bring your own.
"Bobby the Seal" skating aids will be available for a $5 rental.
Participation waivers are required for all participants. Waivers will be available when purchasing tickets.

Enjoy a holiday pop-up market around the ice rink featuring more than 30 vendors from the Children's Entrepreneur Market. Support local youth with your holiday shopping and enjoy musical performances by young artists. Regular skate times apply.

Enter at Gate A (see map). Right-hand turns only.

The fastest and easiest way to access the event is to travel north on Century Boulevard from Cornell Road.

There will be no access to Gate A from Brookwood Parkway and limited access from Evergreen Parkway.

Please note a portion of the complex is closed due to construction.

While the layout has changed, there are still the same number of lights!

Final Year @ GFRC

Enjoy the free Lightopia displays in 2025 and look forward to what’s in store for years ahead! This will be the final year of Lightopia at the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex, but the lights are not going out!

Lightopia is being reimagined for 2026 with an emphasis on spreading the light across the City of Hillsboro, making it more accessible and enjoyable by all.

Watch for an announcement in fall 2026 about the next evolution.

History of Lightopia

Lightopia was started in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, friends and family were discouraged from gathering with people outside their household to prevent the spread of the disease.

The event was initially made possible because of one-time Federal funding that was received in the early years of the pandemic focused to help promote health, stimulate the economy, and benefit "community psyche."

Kick off the holiday season in Downtown Hillsboro with a tree lighting, family activities and youth village, artisan market, live music on the Cultural Arts District Stage, and Santa! Holly Days is a great time to connect with friends and neighbors, support local makers and businesses, find that perfect gift, and celebrate the warmth of the season (even if the weather is cold).

Holly Days is hosted by Hillsboro Downtown Partnership with Hillsboro Tuesday Night Market, Evergreen Christian Church, HART Theatre, and the City of Hillsboro along with community businesses and organizations.
