The Hillsboro Community Senior Center periodically sponsors special events at the facility or elsewhere.

Lunch Service

Dine-in or take out! The Senior Center offers 70 hot meals per service and 20 salad bar options. Vegetarian options are available upon request.

• Lunch is offered Tuesday – Friday at 12 pm.
• Tickets are $6 each effective July 1, 2025.
• Tickets can be purchased starting at 10 am.
• All tickets must be purchased in person.
• Patrons can purchase up to two tickets for people not present at the time of sale.
• Space is limited. Popular menu items will sell out quickly.

Food Distribution

• Free groceries are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday starting at 1 pm.
• There is no food distribution on Wednesdays.
• Bring your own bag.
• A lottery drawing sets the line order.

Foot Care

Nail trim, and foot inspection performed by a certified Foot Care Nurse. Appointments are $45.

Material Girls

Bring crafts and projects to the Senior Center every Friday at 10 am to join the free Material Girls group. Knitting, crocheting, and needlework are just a few fun crafts to work on while socializing with the group. You must come with your own supplies.

Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA)

Meet with certified SHIBA volunteers to evaluate Medicare coverage options and learn more about alternative plans. 

Meet with Medicare Mark Fuchs to get your questions answered and learn about signing up for Medicare or switching plans. 

Canes, shower chairs, walkers, and wheelchairs are on loan for free. Availability is based on community donations so check in later if we do not have what you need now. Call (503) 615-1090 to inquire. 

Combining Moving for Better Balance Tai Chi, brain games, and balance exercises to challenge the whole body in a combination of ways that helps improve both brain power and balance. 

Savor a cup of coffee or tea while mingling with the Senior Center staff and leaders from the Friends of the Community Senior Center. Complimentary coffee and tea will be served.
