Splash Pads & Spraygrounds
Hillsboro's splash pads offer a variety of features from jets to fountains for people of all ages to cool off and enjoy. Explore them all!
Splash pads are generally open:
- Late May to mid-September
- Mid-morning to late evening

(7830 SE Deline Street)
- Status: Open
- Hours: 9 am to 8 pm
- Freshwater
Butternut Creek Park is located in South Hillsboro. Park amenities include a basketball court, playground, sprayground, picnic shelter, and picnic areas.
Tom Hughes Civic Center Fountains
150 E Main Street
North Fountain
- Status: Open
- Hours: 10 am to 8 pm
- Treated recycled water
South Fountain
- Status: Permanently Closed
The Civic Center fountains are a popular place to play any day but especially during the Saturday Farmers Market and Tuesday Night Market.
300 NE 53rd Avenue
- Status: Open
- Hours: 10 am to 8 pm
- Treated recycled water
The sprayground at Hidden Creek Park East (formerly 53rd Avenue Community Park) features geysers, spray elements, and a curved seating wall.
Jerry Willey Plaza at Orenco Station
943 NE Orenco Station Loop

A small water feature perfect for toddlers and young children. Water flows out of the rock retaining wall and up from small sprayers in the plaza.

Magnolia Park's sprayground is located within easy viewing of the picnic shelter and picnic area. The sprayground is user-activated (look for the button nearby!).

The sprayground at Walnut Street Park features brightly colored above ground elements that spray and mist that are user activated (look for the button nearby!). The sprayground is located between the playground and pavilion.
Water Play
These amenities may not spray, but they trickle and flow! Play with sand, rocks, stones, sticks, and more at three different Hillsboro parks.

The water play area that is triggered with the press of a button. Old fashioned water pumps produce water that flows down a man-made creek into a sandy area.
Hidden Creek Park West
(225 NE 53rd Avenue)

A stream and basin with sand and rock make this park feature popular among children for creative and hands-on play.
(750 NE 8th Avenue)

The water play area that is triggered with the press of a button. Water gently flows down a faux rock formation into a large sand area.
