Welcome to the 10th Annual Fitness Challenge presented by the City of Hillsboro. 

The 2019 Fitness Challenge will consist of two, six-week programs, called Waves. In the past, we found that most participants tend to drop out of the program around week six. By splitting the challenge into two Waves, we'll help you keep your eye on the prize six weeks at a time.

Dates

The 2019 Fitness Challenge will run January 12 - April 6, 2019.

Wave 1: January 12–February 23, 2019

Wave 2: February 23–April 6, 2019

Registration and Cost to Participate

The cost to participate in each six-week Wave of the Fitness Challenge is $40 for members of Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center, or $50 for non-members. Receive a $10 discount on Wave 2 when you register for both Waves.

Please stop by SHARC to pick up your registration packet.

The participation fee for each Wave includes: 

  • Two Body Composition and Fitness Assessments, one at the beginning and one at the end of each six-week Wave
  • One 10-punch card for fitness classes 
  • Three Health and/or Fitness Workshops
  • One Group Personal Training Session or one Small Group Class
  • 10% off coupon for additional Personal Training Session(s)
  • One Mini-Challenge
  • Optional Nutrition Counseling: $25 for a 30 minute consultation
  • Support and motivation through our Hillsboro Fitness Challenge Facebook Group

Wave 1: Creating Healthy Habits

Wave 1 is about creating healthy and positive habits! 

We will cover: 

  • Effective goal setting
  • Proper nutrition and healthy eating to meet wellness goals
  • Creating a positive routine

Wave 2: Fitness Improvements

February 23–April 6, 2019

Wave 2 will focus on body composition. We will include the healthy habits we developed during the first six weeks and begin to take fitness to the next level. You will improve your cardiovascular endurance, blast through plateaus, and increase your muscle strength and flexibility, resulting in positive outcomes for your body composition.
