Mission, Vision, and Core Values
Our vision is to be the most trusted police department in the Pacific Northwest by fulfilling our mission of delivering exceptional police service to the Hillsboro community through our shared values of Dignity, Respect, Service, and Just Outcomes.
Leadership
The Hillsboro Police Department is led by the Chief of Police, followed by the Deputy Chief.
Divisions and Branches

The Patrol and Services Divisions are led by sworn police commanders. The Analytic Services Branch and the Business Operations Branch are led by police executive managers. The Office of Professional Standards is overseen by the Deputy Chief.

Meet our K-9s
Hillsboro Police K-9s are trained to track human scent, recover evidence, and protect their officer handler.
Rocket is a German Shepherd who joined HPD in 2018. He loves blueberries and was named after Rocket in the movie, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Tuco is a German Shepherd who enjoys looking after his pet chickens and chewing on dried goat horns. He joined HPD in 2020.
Mac is a Belgian Malinois and loves vanilla ice cream on a cone as a treat. He joined HPD in 2023. When he's not working, Mac likes to play fetch at parks.
Holli is named after Doc Holliday from the movie, Tombstone. She's a German Shepherd who joined HPD in 2024. She enjoys playing fetch, pup cups and steak.
Rayo joined HPD in 2024. He's a Belgian Malinois whose treat of choice is cheese. In his off time, Rayo likes to sleep.
