About
The Huffman East Improvements Project will widen the roadway by adding a second eastbound lane along NE Huffman St east of the intersection with NE Brookwood Pkwy to meet traffic demands resulting from new development in north Hillsboro.
The roadway widening will also trigger construction of a new public NE 55th Ct stub street extending south from Huffman to replace existing driveways and provide safe truck access to and from the two existing businesses Acumed and International Paper.

- ADA ramps
- Street trees
- Lighting
- Signal modifications at the intersection with Brookwood
- Onsite modifications to reestablish vehicular circulation and parking on private property.
Project Timeline
Construction Began - Summer 2025
Scheduled Completion - Winter 2025
Construction Update
Work will continue from July 21 - December 12, 2025.
What to expect:
- Eastbound traffic shifted into a turn lane
- One westbound left-turn lane closed – thru and right-turn lanes remain open
- Eastbound bike lane closed - bicyclist should shift over and ride with traffic.
- Businesses remain open and accessible
