For 15 years, the City of Hillsboro Water Department has partnered with local elementary schools in Hillsboro who are eager to explore educational opportunities in water. The calendar project is a way for students to artistically express what they have learned about water and incorporate that learning into a yearly theme.

The Hillsboro Water Department looks forward to the opportunity each year for students to share the message that water is our most valuable resource and water conservation is important year round.

Each year, a water conservation theme is selected and we encourage students to creatively illustrate this idea. The fourteen posters that best exemplify this theme are chosen and included in the creation of our annual calendar.

The original winning drawings for any given year are displayed in the Utility Billing Office on the first floor of the Hillsboro Civic Center.
