Protection of public health is the City of Hillsboro Water Department’s number one priority. The water customers drink and use every day is tested regularly to ensure every drop is safe and of the highest quality.

Each year, the Hillsboro Water Department publishes Water Quality Reports (or Consumer Confidence Report) for Hillsboro’s in-town and upper-system customers. The reports detail the outstanding quality, value, and reliability of their drinking water.

  • Hillsboro’s in-town customers are located west of Cornelius Pass Road and south of Highway 26 (Sunset Highway). In-town customers are served water from the Joint Water Commission Water Treatment Plant located in Forest Grove.
  • Hillsboro’s upper-system customers are located in western Washington County along Hillsboro’s original water service line. Upper-system customers are served water from both the Joint Water Commission Water Treatment Plant and the Cherry Grove Slow Sand Filter (SSF) Plant, located near the community of Cherry Grove.

The reports include:

  • Information about the City of Hillsboro’s drinking water source
  • Levels of any contaminants found
  • Potential health effects of any contaminant detected at levels higher than the health standard
  • Contacts for additional sources of information

Reports are prepared in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and the Oregon Public Health Division requirements
