Housing Production Strategy
Location: Citywide
Description: The Housing Production Strategy is a holistic analysis to support the production of a variety of housing types, choices, and levels of affordability in Hillsboro, to meet the current and future housing needs of its diverse residents. The Housing Production Strategy includes specific actions the City plans to take to encourage the development of the necessary housing types identified in the Housing Needs Analysis Report 2023, along with a timeline for adopting and executing each strategy.
Current Status: Adopted by the Hillsboro City Council in December 2024, the strategy is designed to guide local efforts to meet current and future housing needs. In spring 2025, the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development determined the City needed to complete revisions to the Housing Production Strategy before it could be approved by the State. The City aims to finalize and readopt by the end of 2025.
