We are excited to introduce HiLight, a new internet and phone service provided by the City of Hillsboro for the benefit of our community.
Built for you.
Internet access is an essential service.
It delivers resources that everyone in Hillsboro needs, including:
And it helps local businesses grow.
HiLight reflects the City’s commitment to:
Increase equity by offering affordable high-speed service for all
Support schools, students, and life-long learners
Boost local businesses
Protect net neutrality
Connect and engage our community
When will service be available?
The City will launch HiLight service for residents and businesses in two selected areas next winter, and will move on to light up additional areas of the community over the coming years. Sign up below for email updates on the roll out progress.
South Hillsboro will be the first neighborhood connected. As part of the construction of this new area of Hillsboro, the City is installing the fiber network as roads and homes are built. This will benefit the entire community by saving money on HiLight’s startup costs.
The City’s Fiber Network Expansion Project will make it possible to offer internet service to Hillsboro residents and businesses, and to maximize Smart City opportunities.
As part of that project, the City of Hillsboro is collaborating with the Hillsboro School District to connect all District schools and classrooms to a shared fiber network by spring 2020.
