The Grading and Erosion Control Permit ensures that clearing, grading, and fill work is performed in accordance with approved plans and in a manner that does not adversely affect adjacent properties.

It also ensures that the rules that have been established to protect and enhance the quality of the Tualatin River watershed are followed during and after construction. Even though a construction project might be small, the cumulative effect of sediment loss from all project sites necessitates maximum effort to prevent sediment from entering the waterways directly or through the storm collection system.

A Grading and Erosion Control Permit is required when one or more of these conditions apply to your site:

• There is soil disturbance of over 500 square feet.
• The amount of excavation, fill or combination there of exceeds 20 cubic yards.
• The slope of the site is greater than 20%.
• Required as a Condition of Approval on a land use.

A Private Utility Permit is required for the installation or alteration of underground utilities, site work, and ground disturbance of 1,000 square feet or more. A Parking Lot Permit is required for the building or altering of a parking lot.

This permit includes the restriping of accessible parking spaces when resurfacing or resealing an existing parking lot.
