About the Committee
The City of Hillsboro is conducting the first complete update of its Comprehensive Plan since 1983. The project's Citizen Advisory Committee plays a key role in advising staff and providing recommendations regarding new land use-related goals and policies and other changes to be included in the updated plan.
The Comprehensive Plan represents the long term land-use vision for the City, and sets planning policies that guide City actions regarding land use, recreational amenities, transportation networks, utility systems, and other aspects of the City's work to make Hillsboro a great place. This project represents one of the first major City efforts to implement the new Hillsboro 2035 Community Plan. Work to develop new Comprehensive Plan goals and policies is anticipated to last through mid-2017.
Committee meetings are not formal public hearings, but members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate. Each meeting will include time dedicated to receiving public comment. Please contact staff for more information.
Membership & Appointment Term
The Citizen Advisory Committee is comprised of representatives of other City Boards and Commissions, partner organizations, and at-large members appointed by City Council. The committee is a temporary committee specific to the Comprehensive Plan update project, and will meet only until the goals and policies in the updated plan are adopted by City Council.
